Introducing Siaran.net

Our buddy John Ong from Penang Hokkien Podcast finally unveiled his long laboured site Siaran.net to the public yesterday. It's basically a listing site of all Malaysian podcasts available on the internet (the ones that we could find). Go over and check it outYou might also ask,

How is it different from GWTV?
1. GWTV is a netcast network, not a netcast listing. If you have a show and would like to join the network, we'll feature all your shows, show details, episodes and so forth. You will get constant and active publicity for each episode of your program. You don't even need to have a website for your show. Email us the details and links for each show and we'll put it up on the site! Siaran gives you a wide hassle/ condition free selection of Malaysian Podcasts by linking you to the parent sites of local podcasts.

Why don't we list all Malaysian podcasts on GWTV as well?
2. Well we have an editorial level on GWTV. There are a few criteria you need to fulfill before we go about casting your show. We're not a listing and we're dedicated to encouraging Malaysians to produce quality programming and not make a podcast for the sake of having one.

   a. Your show must be active. If your show lasted 4 episodes and started back in 2005 and you've never had regular updates to the present day then we can't list you. Subject to discretion
   b. Your show must be entertaining or informative. That's it.
   c. Your show must be continuous and regular. If you want to have a show, make it a point to stick to a regular program release. For example, have a monthly or weekly show that releases on a certain day. If you prefer to release your show on your whims and fancies, we can't list you. This rule is subject to discretion though.
   d. Create a neat website that can be read and understood by all people. If you don't have a website then it's ok.

If you have a show and would like to get listed, don't forget to email us at geeksweekly@gmail.com aight?
Hope that sheds some light on things. Enjoy casting your shows!
